    INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

    Position Title: Marketing & Communications Intern

    Report to: CEO/Founder & Digital Marketing Specialist

    Status: Paid Internship at $15/per hour

    Part-Time (10 hours max per week or as determined by your school to receive school credit), Potential Opportunity for Full-or Part-Time Position Once Internship is Complete

    Must be local. Arizona- based candidates only need apply, as this position will require hours to be worked both in person (2 days a week) at the Phoenix office and remote from home.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The goal of this position is to support the creative and marketing aspects of Onyx Communications and its clients through the completion of a variety of tasks. This position will work directly under the marketing manager to coordinate the communication with the Onyx Comm team and their clients, and assist with various creative projects and initiatives. This internship will provide an incredible opportunity to engage in all facets of the industry and gain a deeper understanding on the creative efforts and implementation of Onyx Communications’s overall marketing and communications strategy for their company and individual clients.

    Primary responsibilities of this position includes but is not limited to:

    • Direct communication and correspondence with managers to assist with and create marketing materials

    • Assist with basic research, production, posting, and maintenance of client’s social media platforms

    • Create, organize, and implement monthly campaigns for Onyx Comm and their clients.

    • Monitor social media engagement on a daily basis

    • . Assist with uploading blog posts to client websites, newsletters, email blasts, graphic creation and more

    • Work under the direction of the Digital Marketing Specialist to assist on action items for creative projects

    QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Thrives in a creative, fast-paced, and dynamic environment

  • Prompt, professional, client-centric oriented

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, such as: Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, TikTok, YouTube (& related tools)

  • Preferred experience with social media scheduling tools (like Planoly, Facebook Creator Studio, etc )

  • On top of current social media best practices and trends

  • Strong written and oral communication skills a must

  • Extremely detail oriented with strong proofreading skills

  • Extremely organized and highly responsive to daily activities and planning

  • Ability to follow weekly/monthly tracking and reporting

  • Requires a friendly and can-do attitude with team and partners

  • Ability to follow and implement brand standards

  • Ability to work with multiple people and projects at one time

  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions

  • Preferred experience with Mailchimp, Wordpress, Squarespace and Canva

  • Self-starting, creative problem solver

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

    • Pursuing degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or similar degree field

    • Familiar with Google Apps and Microsoft Office

    • PLUS if familiar with Adobe Creative Suite
